Located on the outer skin of the aircraft, the overboard discharge indicator provides an indication to ground service personnel that the cylinder may be empty.  In the event of a safety disc rupture from the cylinder, the oxygen under pressure blows the green disc to atmosphere, allowing the oxygen to be safely vented overboard
